| The advocacy in Georgia is practised by an advocate.
An advocate is a person of freelance profession who abides by law and professional ethical standards only and is a member of the Bar Association of Georgia.
Advocacy includes: providing by an advocate of legal counsel to the person applying for help (client); representing of a client in court, arbitration, pre-trial detention, enquiry and investigation authorities over constitutional disputes, criminal, civil and administrative cases, preparation of legal documents toward the third person and presenting of any documents on behalf of a client; providing of such legal assistance that is not related to the representation before the third person. |

| Article 9 and Subparagraph a) of Paragraph 1 of Article 32 of this Law on count of insurance of an advocate's professional responsibility be enacted simultaneously with the enactment of the Law of Georgia "On Insurance of an Advocate's Professional Responsibility". |
